We offer hundreds of off-the-shelf solutions for raised beds and planters but the majority of our customers need something completely bespoke for their gardens, because, not only is each space totally unique, each customer has different objectives and needs that they’re looking to achieve, this is why we offer all customers a free design service to ensure everyone gets exactly what they need for their space.
Early this year, Susan submitted a plan with a series of dimensions, some photos and an outline brief for what she wanted to achieve to our design team asking for advice on the best solution and an innovative design.
The brief for the project was to transform the current vegetable garden consisting of flat and sloped areas with raised beds. In addition to maximising the space, the design needed to allow enough room for manoeuvring a wheelbarrow between the planters.
This was an interesting challenge for our design team who needed to create a fluid design that would work across both even and uneven areas. Using the information that Susan submitted our team set about creating a detailed 3D design outlining how the raised beds would look in the garden, the dimensions of each and an idea of the costs involved.
The suggested design made the best use of the space, incorporating a large L-shaped planter to border the garden, which steps up slightly at the shorter end to accommodate the garden’s incline. Plus, one stepped-double planter positioned at the end of two raised beds that sit on the flat area and a stepped structure consisting of four planters that step up with the natural slope of the garden.
Once Susan had reviewed and passed on her comments and suggestions the team updated the design and quote for final sign-off. Bespoke designs of this nature are then added to the website for customers to purchase. If you have a design in mind for your garden or if you’re not sure where to start, contact our team.
