Ricky's garden was a large new build garden with a small patio and lots of lawn. It is on a very slight slope which can easily be tackled to make flat areas. The garden also benefits from full sun which makes it great for growing plants and edibles and entertaining from day to night.
We work with lots of new-build homeowners to help them take their gardens from bland to beautiful with the addition of raised beds and borders for growing plants and veg, retaining walls for landscaping, accessible ponds for attracting wildlife and functional and versatile garden furniture.
Having spotted our show-stopping Circular Fire Pit Planter Bench design on our Instagram, Ricky wanted something similar for his garden but needed some modifications in terms of design and overall design. Keeping it simple with a high back rest and seating space for up to 10 people.
He used our Free Design Service and contacted our team with his ideas and measurements and they worked on a series of designs. With a few amends here and there, Ricky's WoodBlocX design was ready!
Ricky: "The structure was very easy to build, a lot easier than I thought it would be. The instructions helped a lot as each different block was colour coded. I put all the blocks in separate piles so I knew which one to take for each different colour. It took me about a week to put together, I was doing a couple of hours a day in the evenings after work. As that corner of my garden has a slight slope, I levelled it out before starting to put the blocks together."
The area of the garden where the bench was going to be built needed some slight levelling - we always recommend levelling the area where your WoodBlocX structure is to be built to ensure that it remains stable. Ricky created a circular space to compliment the semi-circle design of his bench. Once Ricky's design was finalised he received his order in just three working days.
This circular fire pit bench design requires customers to source their own preferred material for the seat bases, Ricky opted for a natural stone finish. We recommend using Marshalls if customers opt for a paving stone finish.
