Our customer’s garden transformation involved revamping an open garden into a much more interesting space with WoodBlocX raised beds in a selection of different sizes, all brought together with joining paths and astro turf grass adding greenery to the space.
WoodBlocX raised bed garden transformation
This garden was tired and unloved, it had a broken patio area with uninspiring ground level planting. The garden shed was in good condition but felt excluded without a direct path through the turf. The fence around the garden perimeter was in need of some greenery to soften the space. Overall, there was a huge opportunity to improve the area with raised beds and planters.
Planning the Garden
The customer began by creating their garden space with our pre-designed kits and using our raised bed calculator tool. Various different dimensions of planters were chosen and finished with our traditional capping.
We also offer a Free Design Service on all projects, all you need to do is provide initial measurements and our design team will create a bespoke design. There is no obligation and we offer unlimited revisions to designs. All customers that use our Free Design Service receive a personalised Design Pack which includes detailed drawings of the design, giving customers a great insight into how their final design will look in their garden.
Preparation and building
The customer began by clearing the space in their garden for the new planters to sit. WoodBlocX structures can be built on any surface; soil, grass, paving, concrete or tarmac. For grass and soil we provide ground spikes which ensure the structure is pinned into the ground to avoid any movement.
After receiving the pallets of WoodBlocX, the customer followed our colour-coded and easy to follow step-by-step instructions to build each individual element of the garden. Finished Garden
The final design includes multiple different shapes of raised beds including rectangles which with were positioned to make L-shaped planters. Each of the planters have been lined and filled with plants and flowers adding a touch of colour to the space.
The raised beds were used to frame various patio areas, as well as add more structure and depth to the garden space. The customer has chosen to use composite decking on the patio areas and finished with modern garden furniture including swing chairs and an al-fresco dining space.
Between each of the raised beds, astro turf has been laid to create a weaving path that ties each element of the garden together. The customer has added lighting to the outside of the raised beds to frame the pathway, adding the finishing touch and creating a warm, welcoming and social garden to enjoy.
