Our customer Wolfgang was in the process of renovating a communal property with a large garden in Germany. There was a space to the side of the building which he wanted to improve by adding a large planter bench. The entire plot began as a building site and needed completely renovating.

Planning the garden
Wolfgang used our Free Design Service and sent his ideas to our design team, who created an initial planter bench design for him. Some changes needed to be made to get the design exactly how he wanted it, and our team made those changes swiftly.
The U-shaped design includes a large L-shaped raised bed, with a square planter and integrated bench.
Preparation and building
As the communal garden was being worked on by a professional team, Wolfgang had the space levelled and prepared using the team's equipment which included using a compactor and some crushed stone to ensure the base was completely level.
The raised bed was assembled by Wolfgang and it took around nine hours in total. He added a liner to each of the sides and to cover the buttresses. This helps to ensure you get the maximum lifespan from the structure.
The finished design
The completed design is a great addition to the wider communal garden, providing plenty of space on two different levels for planting edibles. There's also the additional benefit of having a spot to sit and enjoy this quiet corner of the garden too!
