WoodBlocX raised beds can be built on soft and hard ground types including soil, grass, tarmac, paving and concrete. The BlocX are joined and held together with recycled plastic dowels and the whole structure is pinned to the ground using ground spikes or heavy-duty angle brackets. If you plan to grow veggies, our Crop Protectors are very useful.

Our patented system makes it very easy to build our raised beds. Most designs can be constructed in a single day without any need for foundations, nails, screws or power tools - so you really can transform your garden in a weekend! We recommend using our heavy-duty Lump Hammer tool to hit the blocks into place.
- The naturally golden colour of our raised garden beds will last for several years before fading to a silver-grey. WoodBlocX structures can be painted with any good-quality exterior wood paint.

Made from the highest quality, pressure-treated timber, WoodBlocX raised bed kits are built to last 15+ years when our simple installation guidelines are followed. Structures larger than 1.5m and above 25cm in height have supporting buttresses/braces on the inside to stop bowing.

We strongly recommend putting a liner and drainage medium in all of our structures, especially in raised beds where you are planning on using soil to grow with (we now sell a liner). WoodBlocX raised beds do not have a base but you can add your own if you require (we recommend using a good-quality plywood).

Do I need foundations or power tools to build a raised bed?
Most designs can be built in a single day with no foundations and no nails, screws or power tools. Components are lightweight and slot together. We recommend using our heavy-duty Lump Hammer to hit the blocks into place.
